church school lesson--resurrection rolls
This week's lesson is a favorite that has been repeated year after year in Covenant Kingdom. Resurrection Rolls are a good way to concretely tell the miracle of Easter with children. This cooking activity is easy enough for Kindergartners to participate. Older students could do this independently, just needing an adult for the oven.
As you make Resurrection Rolls, use your Bible or a picture book to tell the Easter story. The marshmallow represents Jesus' body. The dough is the tomb Jesus' body was placed in, sealed up tight. The cinnamon represents the sins of people. Once the tomb was opened (bite/cut open the roll) Jesus' body was not found inside!
