church school lesson
mothers of the bible
Mother's Day began over 100 years ago, back in 1914 when President Wilson proclaimed the 2nd Sunday in May to be 'Mother's Day!' It is a day to express our love, honor, and appreciation for our mother(s) and other women who are like a mother to us.
Being a mother is HARD work! Believe it or not, mom's make mistakes. Even the moms in the Bible are not perfect! This week's lesson reminds us of some special moms we have met when reading stories from the Bible: Eve, Hannah, Mary, Jochebed, Sarah, and Naomi - just to name a few. Mothers of today stand upon the shoulders of these strong women to be beautiful, faithful, hard working, and most of all - loving!
HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY to all!
