SERMON: Only In Tennis
SCRIPTURE: I Corinthians 13
RESPONSIVE READING—I JOHN 4:7-12
Leader: Dear friends, let us love one another, for love comes from God. Everyone who loves has been born of God and knows God.
Everyone: Whoever does not love does not know God, because God is love.
Leader: This is how God showed his love among us: He sent his one and only Son into the world that we might live through him.
Everyone: This is love: not that we loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son as an atoning sacrifice for our sins.
Leader: Dear friends, since God so loved us, we also ought to love one another.
Everyone: One has ever seen God; but if we love one another, God lives in us and his love is made complete in us.
PRAYER OF ST. FRANCIS OF ASSISSI
Lord, make me an instrument of your peace:
where there is hatred, let me sow love;
where there is injury, pardon;
where there is doubt, faith;
where there is despair, hope;
where there is darkness, light;
where there is sadness, joy.
O divine Master, grant that I may not so much seek
to be consoled as to console,
to be understood as to understand,
to be loved as to love.
For it is in giving that we receive,
it is in pardoning that we are pardoned,
and it is in dying that we are born to eternal life.
Amen.
THE LORD'S PRAYER
Our Father, who art in Heaven, Hallowed be Thy name
Thy Kingdom Come, Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven
Give us this day our daily bread
And forgive us our debts as we forgive our debtors
And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil
For Thine is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever. Amen
