worship service june 25 2023
We Welcome Rev. craig anderson, who will be conducting the service today.
SCRIPTURE: Psalm 133
SERMON: If Not Life Together
AFFIRMATION OF FAITH
(A variation on the Nicene Creed by Charles S. McCoy)
We believe in one God, Maker of past and future, Creator of all peoples, Sustainer of our memories and hopes; And in Jesus of Nazareth, a Jewish Peasant from Galilee, Who lives in our shattered world, to speak good news to those in despair, to liberate oppressed and oppressor, to give sight to those who will not see, to proclaim our human future in God.
And we believe in one Holy Spirit, who lifts our dying spirits into life, brings to our remembrance acts of courageous love, and resurrects us to the hope of wholeness.
In this faith would we live toward community in God. Amen and Amen.
THE LORD'S PRAYER
Our Father, who art in Heaven, Hallowed be Thy name
Thy Kingdom Come, Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven
Give us this day our daily bread
And forgive us our debts as we forgive our debtors
And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil
For Thine is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever. Amen
BENEDICTION RESPONSE
ONE: The spirit of God is upon Us
Many: God has anointed us to bear good news to the afflicted, to bind up the broken hearted, to proclaim freedom to the captives, to open the prisons of those who are bound. Let us go forth in the name of Jesus to bring peace into broken relationships, healing to alientated persons, and justice into oppressive structures.
